Although Rio is not Brazil’s capital, it is definitely Brazil’s tourism capital and its Christ the Redeemer on the top of Corcovado Mountain is one of the most recognized features of Rio and it is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

There is several options of public transportation in Rio de Janeiro including vans, buses, metros and Ferry service. In general, the public transportation in Rio is safe for tourists, however the night buses are not recommended for tourists. The public Bus is a good way to move around the city while it’s not the rush hour or late at night. Buses are identified by a number that refers to the bus route and a destination on its front sign. Also a “BRS” number that indicates which bus points the bus stops at. Due to the enormous number of buses running in Rio, the bus points are classified by a BRS number (from 1 to 6) and different buses stop at different bus points with the same BRS number.
