In August we welcomed Sara Mendoza to intern with us in Brazilian Experience. Sara is originally from Panamá, but she has been living in France and Spain for many years. She had originally planned only to study in Curitiba, but she decided to do an internship, because her studies got delayed due to a strike. During her internship Sara will be working on the Spanish version of our website.

Brazilian Experience: What are you expectationg for the program?

Sara: I expect to learn new skills, to improve my Portuguese and especially to meet new people and share ideas and opinions with them.

BE: Why did you choose to come to Brazil?

Sara: Because I wanted to learn another language and after studying in a special Latin American program in college I thought Portuguese was the logical choise, since I already speak Spanish. Besides, it’s a country that’s very attractive in some, not only touristic, but also (asnd maybe specially) in a social, political and economic way, which really interested me as a social science student.

BE: What is the main reason that led you to become a intern?

Sara: To be sincere it was actually the strike at the UFPR, but I also think it’s going to be a really interesting experience that may help me a lot in the future, after graduating from college.
