Study Abroad

Intercultural exchange is not new to Brazilians, it has been going on naturally dating back to the monarchy and aristocrats of 18th century Brazil. Children of privileged families would leave the country to study in the big cities of Europe.

However, it was only after the Second World War (1939-1945) that intercultural exchange became popular. The scars of a divided people by actions of misunderstandings and ignorance influenced many organizations to promote the understanding and respect between individuals of different nations and cultures.

The forbearer in this ideological shift to create a world of peace and cultural understating was the Red Cross. By promoting exchange programs and activities that opened individuals from different nations and cultures to work together in the classroom or office exposed them that there are universal values we can all come together and coalesce. Subsequently, leading to the birth of study abroad and work-study programs.

Brazilian Experience shares this idea. We believe that you too can be a link in this ever more global village we now live. By meeting people from different nationalities, learning about other cultures, celebrating what you have in common and respecting the differences, you too will be partaking in the movement of people creating a better tomorrow, today. If you share this idea, studying abroad can be a unique lifetime experience with many opportunities for personal, academic and professional growth.

We offer volunteer, teach and internship opportunities for individuals, besides Faculty-led programs and Service Learning Experiences for groups.

I loved my experience in Brazil! Not only I was able to get hands-on experience in my field, but I also got to know different places, food, and culture! [..] Overall, it was a great experience! I would highly recommend Brazilian Experience to any student who is open-minded and want to get experience working for an industry.

(The internship) Allowed me to obtain hands on experience in what I may be expected to do once I enter the workforce. I had practice meeting new people from different backgrounds and learning to work with them.
