Storytelling: Our new interns from Finland Sanna, Maija and Mira shared a bit of their expectations with us

Today we welcomed three new interns from Finland, Sanna, Maija and Mira. They are going to intern at our partner institutions UTFPR and Lactec. We wish you girls a great experience.

Sanna Hakonen (Lactec) –

BE: Why did you choose to come to Brazil for an exchange program?

I was looking for a job/internship opportunities in my field (biotechnology) and I came across the add by CIMO and thought that the program would be beneficial for me and possibly advance my career opportunities in the future.

 

BE: How do you feel today that you are starting this experience? Can you describe your feelings? What are your expectations for the program?

I am very excited to be here and see how it is to live in Brazil. I am happy to be interning in a place that has a hosted other students before. I’m expecting to be part of an environment that offers support and challenges at the same time.

Mira Pauliina Mäenpää (UTFPR) –

BE: Why did you choose to come to Brazil for an exchange program?   

I wanted to do an internship abroad and what is better place to go than beautiful Curitiba and Brazil? It is a great mix of things that interest me and that I like summer, urban planning and Brazilian Culture.

 

BE: How do you feel today that you are starting this experience? Can you describe your feelings? What are your expectations for the program?

I am excited to start working in a new environment and ready for new challenges! I hope to learn a lot, speak better Portuguese and meet new people.

Maija Potinkara (UTFPR) –

“This internship will be my first time working in a field actually related to my studies”

 

BE: Why did you choose to come to Brazil for an exchange program?   

I wanted to live somewhere different and I had always wanted to visit Brazil because it’s such a diverse country. I am also excited about the opportunity to experience working in my field in another country.

BE: How do you feel today that you are starting this experience? Can you describe your feelings? What are your expectations for the program?

I am very excited to spend the next three months here. I’ve been in Brazil for five days now and I already love the nature and people here. I’m looking forward to seeing more of Brazil and everything it has to offer. I’m also looking forward to learning a lot at my internship at UTFPR.
