• 240h Customized internship placement based on your field of studies, qualifications and desired career goals. Internships can be either paid or unpaid and follow a planned and supervised program design;
• Pre-departure orientation;
• For-credit seminars: upon arrival and pre-departure. These seminars provide a structured academic framework based on the NACE career readiness competencies and include a combination of lectures, discussions, group dynamics, cultural meetings, interactive examples, online material, group exercises, student exposés, documentary films, and outside readings.
• Online mentoring sessions in small groups through the program.

 

 

By the end of this program, you will be more prepared to:

1. Articulate the core skills which differentiate you from other candidates;

2. Recognize your own cultural view frameworks and compare it to Brazilian nationals;

3. Understand how Brazilians do business as well as to learn more about the host country market;

4. Summarize the intercultural competence acquired abroad and their readiness to work in a multicultural environment;

5. Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills;

6. Reflect on self-development while abroad. 

7. Design a career plan including goal setting, personal branding as well as resume writing.

 

 

Brazil is among the 9 World’s largest economies. A huge extension of fertile lands allows records in the production of grains, coffee and a great variety of fruits, giving the country notoriety in the international market.

 

Tourism is the growing industry, with an average of 15% growth per year. It is also a leader in the production of meat. Brazilian industrial park is one of the planet’s most advanced, qualified and productive, exporting aeroplanes, software, shoes, metal, automobiles and handcraft, among others. 

 

Brazilian fashion has also gained more evidence abroad. We have many strong and appraised brands. Brazil is today, a modern, creative country, incorporated to the world, with a great business capacity and a stabilizing and growing economy, occupying each time more space in the international scene.

 

 

Recruiters look for hints on a resume to differentiate candidates. Students who have done an internship abroad are more appealing for having international exposure and the chance to develop some important skills, such as:

– independence;

– confidence;

– open-mindedness;

– empathy.

 

 

 

The program structure has been developed based on NACE, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, list of eight competencies associated with career readiness:

This seminar will use a combination of lectures, discussions, group dynamics, cultural meetings, interactive examples, online material, group exercises, student exposés, documentary films, and extensive outside readings.

 

Along the program, students will have online mentoring sessions in small groups.

 

The Capstone Project is an independent learning project that will require students to keep a record of their experience and work a plan for their future career. Planned activities:

– Journaling 

– Mapping strengths

– Writing a career plan

– Creating a Linkedin account and asking for recommendations of Brazilian employers

– Record a pitch on the video to present yourself as a candidate to a job position articulating the differentials acquired during the international experience.

 

 

Program requirements: 

– Must be a full-time student who has completed at least 45 credit hours;

– Minimum GPA of 2.75;

– Students should be mature, responsible, flexible and adaptable;

– No previous knowledge of Portuguese is required.

What is not included

– Flight tickets;

– Visa fees if required by host company;

– CPF fees (USD 75 USD + express envelopes and postage approximately USD 40);

– Registration at the Federal Police if required by host organization (around USD 80, mandatory for internship visa holders);

– Comprehensive Travel Medical insurance (mandatory);

– Personal expenses.
