Floripa, as Brazilians kindly call the island, has more than 40 beaches cataloged, which make this a beautiful place anytime of the year. The beaches are a good place to meet friends, have a refreshing drink, go for a walk, watch the sunset and, of course, to have a bath in a hot day.

Tourist Attractions

The famous postcard symbol of the city is Hercílio Luz Bridge, this is the first bridge constructed to link the Island of Santa Catarina to the mainland. It is the longest suspension bridge in Brazil.

There is a large and beautiful lake in the center of the island called Lagoa da Conceição, they offer boat trips and windsurfing, as well as beach volleyball and other sports right on the shore.

The Municipal Market was formerly used as the city market place; this is now the spot in downtown area that hits the mark when it comes to good drinks and food. Casual atmosphere, occasional live music and browsing for local items as diverse as crafts and oysters.

Catedral Metropolitana, located at Praça XV de Novembro, is dedicated to Our Lady of Exile and is the church that is the chair of the Archdiocese of Florianópolis. It is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city.

Ilha do Campeche (Campche’s Island) is a tropical paradise made of clear, calm water and white sand. This island has beautiful well preserved trails that take us to archeological sites which keeps ancient Indian writings.

You can do a city tour by bus or riding a bike for a pretty reasonable price.
