Let the child inside you play for a day!

Children’s Day in Brazil is celebrated October 12th. It was instituted by a congressman called Galdino do Valle Filho back in the 1920s. Even so, it only truly became a well-known date in the 60s, for comercial reasons, when a toy company created a sale “in celebration” of the children. Since then, every year, kids all over the country wait anxiously to see what kind of present they are going to get from their families.

October 12th is also a holiday in honor of Nossa Senhora Aparecida (Our Lady Aparecida), Brazil’s patroness saint.

Even if you are not a kid anymore, enjoy children’s day and do something you loved when you were younger!

Or better yet: take some of your time to play with kids in need. This way everybody can have a great time!
