Last Friday we welcome Juulia from Finland, she just graduated last year in Social Sciences and decided to come to Brazil to get working skills at an internship in Curitiba. She is very excited about this experience and told us a little bit about her expectations, check it out:
Be: Why did you choose to come to Brazil for an exchange program?
I’m very enthusiastic in learning about cultures, I’m always up to new adventures and challenges. Brazil is a huge and diverse country with a lot to offer, and I can’t wait to learn more about it! This is my first time in South America, so I’m really excited to see what this experience will bring!
Be: What is the main reason you choose to go on exchange?
I have had a student exchange before, I really think these experiences are one of the best ways to gain more knowledge about the world and the lives of others, to gain more self confidence and get to know yourself better. This time I will also have the opportunity to learn about working life in another country and to advance my professional goals in an international environment. That is going to be great!
Be: What are your goals with this experience? If we met at the end of your stay, which achievements would you like to tell your friends you had.
I will be working at CIFAL Curitiba, which is part of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) network. I’m really interested to see how this kind of institution operates in practice and I hope to gain as much new professional knowledge as possible! I’m going to try my best at work and at the end of the programme, I hope to go back home with a lot of skill and experiences. Also, I hope to meet a lot of new people to speak Portuguese.
Be: How do you feel today that you are starting this experience? Can you describe your feelings?
Ready for the new challenges – ready to see Brazil! Tudo bem! 🙂
