Storytelling: Heidi Maria Keränen from Finland

We received Heidi Maria, a Finnish Master student of Intercultural Teacher Education that decided to learn more about our country as well as she develops useful skills for her future.  She is currently an intern at the International Training Centre for Local Actors for Latin America – CIFAL where she is  helping them to develop training programs, promote the technical cooperation and achieve  the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (UN MDGs).

Check out our interview with Heidi:

Be: Why did you choose to come to Brazil for an exchange program?

Because I wanted to do my training somewhere new and different, abroad. CIMO program seemed good and the organization was interesting. This fitted well in my study structure.

Be: What is the main reason you choose to go on exchange?

Intercultural teacher education requires one training abroad and preferably outside Europe.

Be: What are your goals with this experience? If we met at the end of your stay, which achievements would you like to tell your friends you had.

1- To learn about Brazil and the people

2- To learn about CIFAL and to gain knowledge and skills useful for the future

3- To see new things and places

Be: How do you feel today that you are starting this experience?

AWESOME! 😀

Curitiba is a beautiful city and people seem, to be really nice. I got good information from the organization and Brazilian Experience.
