Who to call in case of emergency?
Curitiba has two different services in case of emergency: SAMU (Mobile First-Aid Service) and SIATE ( Trauma Care Emergency Integrated Service). Both receive estimated 500 daily calls, so it is important to understand the difference between both.
SAMU – 192
SAMU’s ambulances help patients who have clinical emergencies, such as:
– Chest pain manifested suddenly (it can indicates hear problems)
– Poisoning and contamination by cleansing products
– faint, loss of consciousness and hemorrhaging
– Convulsions
SIATE – 193
SIATE helps people who have suffered traumas and wounds, such as:
– car accidents and crashes
– victims of firearms, thrusts etc.
– electric shocks
– serious animals attacks
