Julius is a half Finnish and half Swiss Geography student. He has a wide international experience, he has lived and studied in Switzerland, Finland and Italy. Julius is also graduated in Arts, he has a bachelor in Jazz Piano. Besides the opportunity of improving his working skills and resume, he has chosen to come to Brazil to get to know a totally different culture and a new continent. 

During Julius’ first days in Brazil he told us more about his first impressions about the country. Here you can check our interview with him:

Be: Why did you choose to come to Brazil for an exchange program?

I chosed Brazil because I wanted to learn and get to know a new country and a new continent. I had also heard about Curitiba before because of its good urban planning and urban transportation system, wich is one of the reasons I came here.

Be: What is the main reason you choose to go on exchange?

The main reason to go on an exchange is to learn about different cultures and to meet new people there.

Be: What are your goals with this experience? If we met at the end of your stay, which achievements would you like to tell your friends you had.

My goals are to learn Portuguese, to learn about the urban planning and waste management systems in Curitiba (wich is the topic of my internship at UTFPR), to meet new people and to get to know Brazilian culture.

Be: How do you feel today that you are starting this experience? Can you describe your feelings?

I feel very excited to be in Curitiba, to start the internship and I’m looking foward to the next three months here!
