Storytelling: Lucynda Scheffer from USA

The American Lucynda believes Curitiba is the ideal place for those who wants to work in sustainable development in the future.

 

Lucynda is an American girl who studies Global Affairs and Creative Writing at George Mason University, located in Virginia. She is highly interested in international affairs and global politics. In the future, the 20 years old student would like to work in sustainable development (particularly green  development). Cultural exchange has always been part of Lucynda’s life: her parents have already hosted over 80 exchange students at their home and she already did a couple of exchange programs herself. In Curitiba, she will be an intern at Elo, an institution that creates opportunities to change teenagers’ lives through their preparation and placement for the workplace in the future.

Be: Why did you choose to come to Brazil for an exchange program?

I wanted to learn Portuguese; when I graduate, I want to work in sustainable development and Curitiba is a growing green city in a growing and expanding nation.
