The Finnish Geologist Sami has completed his 9 months internship at Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR) as a researcher. During his experience here in Brazil, his main task as an intern was to research about landslides. He wrote an article about it and it will be published bringing many positive aspects for his resume.

We interviewed Sami to know more about the adventure he had here in Brazil. Check it out:

BE: What did you learn from this experience?

I learned a lot of things like about lands and people are very warm here.

BE: What changes did you notice on yourself?

Well, maybe I became a warmer and nicer person, since we Finnish people tend to be very cold so yes, I’ve seen some changes in myself.

BE: What has the experience added to your resume?

This experience will bring a lot of benefits to me because I will get my article published. That’s great for my CV and it will help me to get a job in the future.

BE: Would you come back to Brazil? What motivates you?

Yes! I had a very beautiful adventure here. The people are very warm and very helpful and I got a lot of friends here so, yes, I would like to come back someday and get to meet my friends again and have a roadtrip around Brazil like to Salvador, Pantanal and places like this.

BE: Which advise would you give for students willing to join the same experience?

One advice I can give to people who are coming to Brazil is that they should get used to the fact that people are often late here, haha.

BE: What was the highlight of your experience in Brazil?

It was when I got up the hills to see beautiful landscapes and islands, it was great!
