While connecting people from all around the world, we build bridges.  Connections that will result in collaborations and development for our country and for the world. This is what happened with Texas Tech University and LACTEC Institute.

For 10 years, Brazilian Experience sows the seed of the respect for diversity by bringing foreigners to have educational experiences in Brazil. And our job didn’t stop there with Texas Tech University and LACTEC Institute.

Since 2012, the LACTEC Institute, one of the largest science and technology centers of Brazil, has been receiving our exchange students for researches on theirs laboratories that are reference in innovative solutions for companies, industries and energy providers.

Texas Tech University is a public research university in Lubbok, Texas, United States that offers courses in more than 150 study areas throughout 13 colleges and hosts more than 60 research centers.

On the last February 8th, TTU received the visit of the president of LACTEC Institute, Luiz Fernando Vianna, and the manager, Luiz Alkimin de Lacerda.

The purpose of the visit of LACTEC to Texas Tech was to familiarize themselves with the Whitacre College of Engineering. The visit included a mini tour of the Texas Tech Campus, tour of labs and a round table with Brazilian professors, post docs, PhD students from Brazil.

During the visit, were identified as possible areas of collaboration wind technology and nanotechnology. In addition, Luiz Vianna stated the intention of receiving more internship students from Texas Tech University in LACTEC.

On February 21st 2019, the Whitacre College of Engineering will  go to Brazil and visit with LACTEC in their headquarters and further collaboration in other areas may be possible.

And with motivation we continue pursuing our mission. We believe that if we learn to appreciate our differences as human beings we can change the world!
