Known “Floripa” among its locals, this city is a great destination for those who wants to avoid the hustle and bustle of big cities but still want to be around nice beaches and great people.

Lagoa da Conceição ( Conceição Lagoon)

Lagoa da Conceição is known for being one of the most beautiful places of Florianópolis. It is surely  a postcard of the city. It is strategically located in the centre of the island so it makes this a great destination for visitors. You can find many people kayaking and doing another water activities such wind, kitesurf and stand-up paddle. There are famous dunes for those interested in trying sandboard. You can also find many bars, restaurants and live music in the area which gives the area a great night life reputation.

Jurerê

This neighboorhood is the place to be if you’re a big fan of glamour and fun. The Government has invested a good money on urbanization and environmental concern, so the area is full of interesting places to visit. It got internationally visibility when it was elected as “The place to be” by The New York Times in 2009.  The beach is known as the Brazilian Miami and it is common to see mansions, helicopters, imported cars and yachts around the area. The water in the ocean is really warm during the summer and the beach has a total of 3.2km. It has a great night-night and the most popular clubs are located over there.

Joaquina Beach

This is one of the most famous beaches in the city. The beach is famous due to the intensity of the waves and it is also seat of important surfing championships. The area also has many restaurantes, bars, hotels and resorts. For those who want to have a truly Brazilian Experience, you can the Joaca dunes, place where you can try Sandboard.

Gurita Walkaway

This free nature trail is an old colonial from the 17th century. It has many ruins and archaeological sites that makes that landscapes breathtaking. The highlight of this nature attraction is the Peri’s Waterfall, a place with an unique beauty where visitors go to take a refreshing swim and bath. We recommend you to wear waterproof shoes because there are some streams, lagoons and rivulets along the way!

Casa da Alfândega (Alfândega’s House)

This is a perfect place for Architecture lovers. The Alfandêga’s House is considered the best model of neo-classic architecture in Florianópolis. The place is home of over 400 artisans from different parts of the state which shows that multiculturalism that exists in Santa Catarina. It is really a cultural reference of what people from the area do and also a great tourism area.
